Julie Davies

It's difficult to really express the transformation that has happened to me over the past year or so since I made the monumental decision to visit your practice but I will give it a go.

There is an old saying that "the smile you send out returns to you" which I believe is true in both its metaphorical and real meaning.

I grew up a happy and in many ways privileged kid, was confident, bubbly and popular with my peers - always smiling. My family used to joke that I was a huge poser because I loved having my photo taken!

I was always conscious of having a gap in my front teeth but to be honest, for the first 30 years of my life it was my defining feature which everyone, especially boyfriends thought was attractive and cute.

However, over the years my already small teeth started to wear down, the gaps, not just in the front grew and slowly my confidence started to diminish. My situation certainly wasn't made better by the fact that I needed to have an operation on my lower lip to remove a cancerous lesion.

I look back now at photographs of me during my 30s and early 40s, of which there are actually very few and I can't find a single one where I am smiling and in a very real sense, it seemed that the world had stopped smiling back at me.

The 'before' photograph taken on my first visit still shocks and upsets me. It is as if I am looking at some other person, not me. My face looks older and my eyes, they just look so sad. There is absolutely no spark in me.

Fast forward to the 'after' photo and wow, what a difference a year makes! My smile has returned and you can visibly see the difference not only physically but also emotionally and psychologically - the inward change is tangible! Not only people who know me, but complete strangers have commented on the fact that I have a beautiful smile, which is amazing for my confidence. From my worst to my best feature in just over a year - what a transformation!

This is without doubt the best decision I have made for myself in my life and I have to say that you Komal, Raman and your team were fantastic from start to finish. You made what was a difficult and traumatic process bearable and even fun at times. I can't thank you enough for what you have done for me and I will be grateful to you all for the rest of my life. My wish is that the smile that you send out returns to you in abundance!

My warmest regards
Julie Davies
