We know how difficult it can be to have damaged or missing teeth, and we’re committed to offering a comprehensive range of options. Every restoration we provide is imbued with our commitment to both form and function, and we take an aesthetic approach to every restoration we undertake, including bridges.
A bridge can be used to replace a missing tooth or in some cases, teeth. Using the surrounding healthy teeth as support, a prosthetic tooth is then affixed in the mouth using the natural teeth as its anchor. Depending on the health of your surrounding teeth, we may also have to affix a crown to ensure the stability and functionality of the bridge.
There are several different types of bridges available, some of which do not require the addition of a crown. These, such as the Maryland bridge, use a metal or porcelain frame to attach the new tooth to the back of the support teeth. With an adhesive bridge, the prosthetic tooth is affixed using a metal ‘wing’ that is glued to the natural teeth while a cantilever bridge only requires one natural tooth as support.
We will talk through all your options with you when it comes to bridges and restorations, so you can be sure you’re making the right choice for your long-term oral and dental health.Back to General Dentistry
