Missing teeth can make you under-confident about smiling; dental implants can give you that confidence back, and so much more besides. We invite anyone who has lost one or more teeth to join us at our Buckinghamshire dental practice to discover what implants can do for you.
The implant process
The first step on your journey to dental implants is to come for a consultation with an implant dentist here at Smile Design Dental Practice, Buckinghamshire. They will check that you are suitable for implant treatment and will provide you with a personal treatment plan.
Whilst it is true that the placement of dental implants involves oral surgery, it is only a small operation, and our Buckinghamshire dental practice is fully equipped to carry out such treatment. In most cases, people only require a local anaesthetic.
Although implant placement is just a minor procedure, your dentist will undertake precise planning before placing your dental implants, to avoid nerves and other vital structures and also to enable your new teeth to withstand all the forces generated in the mouth when biting and chewing food.
A healing period of a couple of months is required to give your implants time to integrate with your jaw bone. After this you will have another appointment at our Buckinghamshire clinic to have your permanent new teeth attached to the abutments on top of your implants.
